The Tigers teamed up for a 1-over-par 289 Tuesday on their home course at the University Club in the second round of the NCAA 香港六和开奖历史记录 regional. That put LSU at 8-over 584, one stroke out of the last transfer spot behind Ohio State.

The top five teams, plus the top individuals whose team does not advance, move on to the NCAA championships May 24-28 in Carlsbad, California.

鈥淚 think we took care of the golf ball better today around the greens,鈥 LSU interim coach Andrew Nelson said. 鈥淲e didn鈥檛 have an issue hitting tee shots out here, which has been great. You need to hit good tee shots to play well at this place and we鈥檝e done just that. Around the greens yesterday we were sloppy, but today we did a better job chipping and putting. We鈥檙e going to make plenty of birdies out here, we just have to limit the double bogeys.鈥

Freshman Jay Mendell led the way for LSU in round two with a 3-under 69 to move into a tie for 15th at 1-over 145. Mendell carded four birdies on his first nine holes of the day and made nine consecutive pars on his way back in.

LSU鈥檚 Connor Gaunt remained in contention for medalist honors. He shot a 73 and is tied for second at 3-under 141.

Virginia continues to hold the team lead at 6-under 570. Auburn is five back in second place, followed by Texas Tech (579) and Duke (582).

Duke鈥檚 Ethan Evans shot the round of the day Tuesday, a 5-under 67, to take a three-stroke lead going into the final round. Evans is at 6-under 138, three ahead of Gaunt, first-round leader Deven Patel of Virginia and Ohio State鈥檚 Neal Shipley.
